So, my first video.
It’s a trailer for this Substack, not a report or interview. It’s took me a while to remember how to edit my own video but I am making progress.
I’ve a few ideas about stories I want to tell or stuff I want to report on but expect a broad range of subjects.
Blackpool is reported by my fellow MSM journalists in a very weird way. They only come here when they want poverty porn, junky case studies, crap tourism packages or Strictly is in town.
I see so many more stories than that about green spaces, housing and where investment goes.
The Battle of Ideas Festival
I went. I listened. I interviewed. I came away with a resolve to speak more freely and report on subjects the UK news media are not interested in. Subjects that impact on the much maligned people of my home town and thousand other places like it but they’re difficult subjects and impossible to do in half a day. I can take longer here to find the evidence, talk to the people involved and consider some solutions.
